The story of Pinehurst No.2

Opened in 1907, Pinehurst No.2 was designed by Donald Ross, who called it ‘the fairest test of championship golf I have ever designed’. Ross was associated with the course for nearly 50 years, improving the course continually until his death in 1948. Pinehurst No. 2 is best known for its crowned, undulating greens, which are some of the most complex and widely hailed in the world.

Pinehurst No 2, the venue for one of the rounds for the Junior North and South Championship, remains one of the world’s most celebrated golf courses.

The US Men’s Amateur Championship will be held here in 2019 – the 3rd occasion, being held previously 1962 and 2008.

The US Open Championship will be here in 2024 – the 4th occasion, being held previously in 1999, 2005 and 2014.

The list is endless.

The 2018 will be the 40th edition of the prestigious Junior North and South Championship.
